Custom T-shirts are probably the number one item sold across the whole nation. Walk into any store and you will see uniquely designed T-Shirts on the rack or wall. Every tourist shop has them... worldwide. So why not create your own for your business or event?
Screen Printing - 24+ Shirts The most popular is Traditional Screen Printing. It is designed for 24+ of white and light shirt colors or 36+ of dark or black shirt colors. It is simply applying an emulsion of ink on the shirt. Normally for dark shirts, a base (or underlay) of white ink will be applied first so the rest of the color(s) will display properly. Pricing is based on the number of colors in the image, the number of locations where you want to print and the quantity of t-shirts you are screen printing. You will also typically pay a screen setup charge per screen for each color in each image.

Discharge Screen Printing - 36+ Shirts Another great option of for many designs is Discharge Screen Printing. It is the newest mode of screen printing and very popular among hige-end retail t-shirt lines. Very few companies are able to do this at all as it takes special inks, processes and knowledge to know the effects of various colors on different kinds of shirts.
Discharge screen printing leaves your shirt feeling very soft as no ink is put "on" the shirt as is done in traditional screen printing, rather the ink is actually printed "in" the fibers of the shirt. Learn more by visiting our Discharge Screen Printing website we created to better educate our clients about this process. Also visit our Gallery to view examples of both types of screen printing.

Screen Printing and Direct-To-Garment Printing
What is Screen Printing?
Screen printing is a form of printing using mesh screens coated in emulsion. An image is exposed onto the screen then washed out leaving the mesh clear where the image had been.
A pool of ink is then pulled across the the image on the mesh with a rubber bladed squeegee and the pressure forces the ink through the mesh and onto the substrate, producing the printed image.
Versatility is the major advantage in screen printing - as long as a surface is flat it can be printed!
Screen Printing is a great solution for higher volumes and when you must put an image on a dark shirt. Why? Screen printing can utilize a white base color on the dark shirt so the other colors remain vibrant.
Type of garment i.e.: t-shirt, sport shirt, sweatshirt, tank top, towel, tote, etc.
Long sleeve shirts are more expensive than short sleeve shirts.
Pocketed t-shirts are more expensive than those without pockets.
Color of garment (colors are more expensive than whites).
Number of ink colors
Location of prints i.e.: one side, two sides, sleeves, pant legs, etc.
Tips to reduce your cost of screen printing:
Reduce the number of colors
Print only one side
Print on white, ash or natural shirts
What is Direct-To-Garment Printing?
Direct-To-Garment has been around for a number of years. It is simply the applying of inkjet printing on your desirable garmet. It works much like your inkjet printer but at a much higher speed. All the colors are applied at the same time instead of one at a time in screen printing. It has become even more popular for several reasons:
