Exhibitors want to attract persons attending an Expo or trade show to see their product or service, as well as to make their name "stand out" to potential customers long after the show has ended.
The following list can help you plan for your next show --and reap the benefits!
Keep your exhibit display simple. The exhibit does not do the selling, you do. With that in mind, make sure you do not put everything there is to know on the display wall.
Follow up quickly. Immediately send a card to every name simply saying thanks for the visiting your booth at.... This will reinforce their memory of their experience at your booth, and let them know you care about their business. Have your follow-up cards printed before you go to the trade show. Address them by hand in your hotel room at night from that day's contacts. Mail them the day you get home. Impress people with how efficient you are.
Use business cards. No matter how much sales literature you have, a business card is still the best way for a potential customer to find you.
Collect business cards. Even if your tradeshow organizers have provided a way for your prospects to carry the plastic cards you use to make a quick imprint, a business card is always an excellent reference. It provides you with a reliable spelling of an individual and the company names as well as positions within the company, type of business, etc.
Use eye-grabbers at the aisle. People typically focus on the parts of the booth that are close to the aisle. It may prove helpful to have something at the aisle to grab their attention: a promo handout, food item, product sample ...
Offer giveaways that work. Your giveaways should be designed to increase your visibility while they motivate, promote and increase recognition of your company.
Developing a dynamite giveaway takes thought and creativity. Consider what your target audience would use and keep in front of them. Think about having different handouts for different types of visitors. Giveaways for viable prospects or visitors who epxress a genuine interest in your service may justify one type of item. Others might be given a less costly reminder item, or a "thank-you" for t heir time and attention.
Wear your corporate logo. It can show professionalism coupled with teamwork. The logo could be embroidered on a shirt, a pin or a patch on a blazer pocket. Wearing company shirts can reinforced the impression that you believe in your company and your products or services.
